Perfume & Fragrances 101

A perfume’s durability depends on its concentration level, alongside your application method and some external factors like humidity or sun exposure. The longest-lasting perfumes are eau de parfum (EDP) – which can stay on skin for up to 8 hours. To extend your fragrance’s wear, consider spraying onto your clothing, as certain fibres hold onto perfume ingredients well.

Knowing how to apply perfume properly can improve your experience with your favourite scent. Pulse points like your wrists, inside the elbow and your neck are warm areas of the body, which help your perfume to develop and stay on skin for longer. For an all-over scent, you can also mist fragrances directly in front of you and walk through.

All perfumes diminish in scent over long periods of time. To protect and extend the length of your fragrance’s life, always store the bottle in cool and dark areas (a drawer is ideal). We also recommend you avoid shaking your perfume, as the oxygen produced when doing so can break down the chemical bonds.
